Our Story
Incensum Co was founded in Carnegie, Pennsylvania with one purpose: to craft devotional candles that reflect the beauty, depth, and richness of the Catholic faith. We saw a gap in the market. Most candles were either purely decorative or vaguely "spiritual" without any real connection to the sacred traditions that Catholics hold dear. We wanted something more intentional. Something that smelled like the Church. Something that felt like prayer.
Every candle we create is hand-poured with care, using premium-quality wax and fragrance blends inspired by the scents of Catholic worship; frankincense, myrrh, beeswax, rose, and sacred wood. From the altar to your home altar, Incensum candles are crafted to help you pray, reflect, and encounter the presence of God in the ordinary moments of daily life.
Why Incensum?
The word Incensum comes from the Latin for incense, the fragrant smoke that has risen before God in worship since the days of the Old Testament. In the Catholic Mass, incense symbolizes our prayers ascending to Heaven, the presence of God, and the sanctification of the faithful. It is ancient. It is holy. It is ours.
We chose this name because it captures everything we believe a candle can be, not just a source of light or scent, but a symbol of prayer, an act of worship, and a connection to the 2,000-year tradition of the Catholic Church.
